This Privacy Policy describes how WhoOwl ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you visit our website at WhoOwl.co and use our price tracking tools or Chrome extension. WhoOwl is owned and operated by Mad Media Ltd. (H.P. 514805936), registered in the State of Israel.

1. Information We Collect

To provide automated price alert notifications, we collect the following information:

Personal Alert Data: If you set a price alert, we collect your email address and/or WhatsApp phone number to transmit the notifications. If you create an account, we also collect your email address and hashed account password.

Tracking Preferences: We store the Amazon ASINs, target alert prices, and product details (such as names and images) that you actively choose to monitor on our platform.

Chrome Extension Data: Our Chrome extension collects product data (ASIN, title, current price, image URL, and store domain) from the active Amazon tab when you interact with it to set an alert. It does not access your browsing history or data on other websites, and only communicates with our backend at https://whoowl.co/api/products.

Name (Google sign-in only): If you sign in with Google, we receive and store the display name attached to your Google account so we can greet you by name. We do not store your Google password.

Country of connection: When you create an account or set an alert, we record the two-letter country code of the connection (for example "IL" or "US"), as reported by our hosting network. We do not store your IP address. The country is used to choose your default language, to pick the right notification channel and to understand where our users are.

Marketing consent: If you tick the optional "send me hot deals" box, we record that choice and the time you made it. This is separate from price alerts and is never pre-ticked.

Measurement and advertising (only with your permission): with your consent we load Google Analytics 4 (to understand how the site is used) and the Meta (Facebook) pixel (to measure our advertising and to show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited WhoOwl). Both are switched off when you choose "Essential only". Visitors in the United States see a notice bar instead of a consent dialog: measurement runs by default and can be switched off at any time with "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"; a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is honoured automatically. We never send your name, e-mail address or phone number to Google or Meta.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

- Dispatch price alert notifications via email or WhatsApp when a product price drops below your target.

- Load and display your personalized price tracking dashboard.

- Prevent spam, bot activity, and ensure the security of our platform.

- If, and only if, you opted in: send you occasional deal emails matched to the kinds of products you track. Every such email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting your price alerts.

Our operators can view customer records (name, email, phone, country, consent status) in an access-controlled internal panel, solely to run and support the service. We do not sell or share this information with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Data Retention & Erasure

We retain personal data (email, phone, tracked items) only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide price alerts. If you delete your account or untrack all items, your personal data is purged from our active databases within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

4. Data Storage & Security

We take data security very seriously. All credentials and alert data are stored in a secure database. Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing before storage. We do not sell, rent, lease, or distribute your email addresses, phone numbers, or user data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. No Affiliate Links or Affiliate Cookies

WhoOwl does not use affiliate links and does not set or benefit from any affiliate tracking cookies. Deal buttons on WhoOwl may take you to partner content pages that operate independently; any cookies or disclosures on those pages are governed by their own policies.

6. Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Israeli Law)

You have the following rights based on your jurisdiction:

- GDPR (Europe): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your data, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact support@whoowl.co.

- CCPA (USA): We do not sell or share your personal data. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

- Israeli Privacy Protection Act: You have the right to inspect (עיון) database records containing your personal details, and to request correction or deletion if the records are inaccurate or outdated on the basis of the Israeli Privacy Protection Act, 5741-1981 (including Amendment 13).

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can stop tracking any item at any time, which deletes that alert connection from our active database. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated emails/phone records from our system, please contact us or delete your monitored items directly on the dashboard. We will process data removal requests promptly.
